Living Allowance: 650 per month (if eligible)
About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and organised Stores Coordinator to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an exciting opportunity to support one of the most complex engineering programmes in the UK – the design, build, and maintenance of the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet.
As a Stores Coordinator, you will play a key role in the management and coordination of stock and materials used throughout the submarine programme, ensuring critical components are received, recorded, stored, and issued in a timely and accurate manner. You’ll work closely with procurement, production, and engineering teams to ensure material availability meets operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock and materials, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards

Maintain accurate stock levels using inventory management systems

Issue components and materials to internal departments based on project demands

Conduct regular stock checks and audits to maintain inventory integrity

Liaise with logistics and procurement teams to manage material flows efficiently

Ensure correct storage conditions for sensitive or high-value items

Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and security regulations within a controlled site environment
Essential Skills & Experience

Experience in a warehouse, stores, or materials coordination role within a complex or regulated environment

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail

Good IT skills, particularly in using inventory and stock management systems

Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Desirable

Prior experience in defence, engineering, or manufacturing industries

Knowledge of handling controlled or classified materials

Forklift license or willingness to be trained
