As a Structural Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and quality by complying with all safety regulations and procedures. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to perform precise work on various aircraft structures.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to determine layout and patterns on materials.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and punch and drill presses to shape parts according to specifications.
  • Operate soldering equipment to join sheet metal parts and smooth edges using hand tools, power tools, files, or chemicals.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
  • Provide accurate diagnoses and repair of structural discrepancies.
  • Install structural fittings such as bulkheads, formers, stringers, ribs, frames, and other components.
  • Install insulation materials using hand or power tools.
  • Repair dents, cracks, or other damage to the aircrafts skin using appropriate hand tools.
  • Repair holes in aircraft skins using patch materials.
  • Install, repair, and replace aircraft skins, structural components, and interior furnishings.
  • Install interior and exterior trim such as windows, doors, bulkheads, wall panels, ceilings, flooring, and staircases.
  • Repair or replace damaged control surfaces using hand tools.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with aviation, sheet metal, structure, aircraft repair, and A&P.
  • Proficiency in heavy structures, fabrication, and aircraft assembly.
  • Strong skills in structural sheet metal fabrication and repair.
  • Machining skills to operate and maintain metalworking machines.
  • Welding skills to repair and modify aircraft parts.
  • Fabrication skills to create and repair aircraft parts.
  • Inspection skills to assess and ensure the condition of aircraft parts.
  • Experience with heavy maintenance and blueprint reading.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an FAA-approved sheet metal mechanic program.
  • 3+ years experience as a sheet metal mechanic, with at least 2 years on aircraft.
  • Working knowledge of blueprint reading, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Familiarity with aviation maintenance manuals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $46.00/hr.
