ROLE OVERVIEW

The Training Coordinator – Cabin Safety is mainly responsible for the planning and management of training sessions as required. In collaboration with the Chief Flight Attendants, maintaining all training programs relating to Flight Attendants. This role ensures that all cabin crew members are trained in accordance with Transport Canada regulatory requirements, internal company standards, and operational needs. The incumbent must be qualified as In‑Charge Flight Attendant and act as a subject matter expert on the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM), training curriculum, and applicable regulatory training standards (including TP12296 – Flight Attendant Training Standards).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate training schedules, instructor assignments, and training resources to ensure efficient program execution.
  • Maintain accurate training records, attendance sheets, and certification documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development, revision, and improvement of Flight Attendant training programs and materials.
  • Ensure all training content reflects the most current versions of:
    1. Air Inuit Flight Attendant Manual (FAM),
    2. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),
    3. Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP),
    4. Transport Canada TP12296 – Flight Attendant Training Standards.
  • Assist in preparing for internal and external audits; ensure all training programs remain compliant with Transport Canada regulations.
  • As required, facilitate and deliver initial, recurrent, upgrade, and requalification training for Flight Attendants, as well as all trainings provided by outside resources.
  • Collaborate with internal departments for training programs delivered by partners across the organization.
  • When needed, conduct classroom, hands‑on, and aircraft‑based training sessions in alignment with approved training programs.
  • Maintain qualification as In‑Charge Flight Attendant and act as subject‑matter expert in cabin safety, service procedures, and emergency operations.
  • Support Flight Attendants and leadership teams by providing guidance on interpretation and application of FAM and policies.
  • Participate in incident reviews or safety investigations when training-related issues are identified.
  • Collaborate with Cabin Safety, In‑Flight Services, Flight Operations, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure consistent standards.
  • Provide timely support to crew members regarding training requirements, scheduling, and certification questions.
  • Participate in the recruitment activities for the Cabin Safety department
  • Assist new hires in their onboarding process and facilitate a smooth transition into their operational role.
  • Take on additional responsibilities that support the success of the Flight Operations department.

WHAT MAKES YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Diploma in a related field is an asset.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Flight Attendant, including experience acting as In‑Charge.
  • Qualified as In‑Charge Flight Attendant and as a trainer (mandatory).
  • Successfully complete the company’s training program intended for trainers.
  • Strong and up-to-date knowledge of the Flight Attendant procedures.
  • Solid understanding of all Flight Attendant training programs (initial, recurrent, requalification, and specialty training).
  • Thorough knowledge of Transport Canada TP12296 – Flight Attendant Training Standards.
  • Knowledge in training, coaching, or adult learning is considered an asset.
  • Experience in training program development is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual: English and French. Inuktitut is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Ability to guide and influence crew members in a training environment.
  • Strong understanding of Transport Canada regulations and safety standards.
  • Ensures accuracy in training documentation, compliance, and teaching content.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic operational aviation context.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams.
