TECHNICAL TRAINER (STARLINK)

A Technical Trainer is driven by the fundamental belief that education and knowledge are power, but a SpaceX Technical Trainer combines that belief with a strong sense of urgency, creativity, and resourcefulness and thrives on opportunities for hands-on application. The ideal candidate brings applicable industry experience to the table and will be armed with strong communication skills and innovative problem-solving abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain the Starlink Associate training documents, records, and SOP within the Personnel Qualifications systems.
  • Partner directly with subject matter experts to design and develop engaging content for a variety of audiences and delivery modes (online, classroom, etc.) with clear strategies and tactics to achieve desired learning outcomes, including but not limited to hardware skills proficiency training, design and operational safety training, regulatory compliance training, leadership development training, and equipment and tools training.
  • Onboard Starlink Production Associate New Hires.
  • Set up their initial training and familiarize Associates with the Starlink Dish production lines.
  • Review with new hires the company policies, procedures, and expectations specific to the Starlink program.
  • Review with new hires the performance metrics that drive career progression for Starlink Production Associates.
  • Showcase the value the associate role brings to the Starlink Program and how it supports our customers.
  • Manage the content and tools for on-the-job training.
  • Lead Personnel Qualification system projects for training & certification verification.
  • Lead new course & course content development, including the ability to build new training courses to align with engineering specifications.
  • Create course materials, such as PowerPoints, student handouts, and tests for instructor-led programs with student assessments.
  • Lead training modules (classroom and online) for Starlink personnel on a variety of technical topics.
  • Develop process specifications and research on new technologies.
  • Schedule initial introductions and meetings between new hires and production leadership.
  • Educate team in Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Drive updates and development of procedures related to Safety and Manufacturing Equipment.
  • Engage production management, engineering, quality, and subject matter experts to gather required technical information on complex manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Monitor human error trends as a result of training to assess training impacts and provide solutions to demonstrate a downward trend.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for specialized resources and instruction that are outside of SpaceX’s expertise.
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of work experience and increasing responsibility in training coordination, project coordination, and/or learning and development.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of electronics manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Training experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills to independently analyze, review, and research manufacturing processes and applicable standards.
  • Experience with video editing and online training module development.
  • Excellent oral and written training/communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and machine operation.
  • Demonstrated experience as a team-oriented self-starter, eager to meet and exceed objectives, with the ability to handle a multi-project environment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The position may require extended hours and weekend work.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Level 1: $30.00 - $38.00/hour
Level 2: $34.00 - $43.00/hour
Level 3: $38.00 - $48.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
