The Hub Cap Press Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and technical maintenance of hydraulic or mechanical pressing machinery used for hub caps. This role goes beyond basic operation; we are looking for a detail-oriented individual who can calibrate equipment, troubleshoot cycle irregularities, and ensure every cap meets strict structural and cosmetic specifications.
Responsibilities
* Machine Setup & Calibration: Configure press parameters (pressure, stroke length, and dwell time) according to specific hub cap designs and material thickness.
* Tooling & Die Management: Install, align, and change out dies and molds. Perform routine cleaning and lubrication of tooling to prevent surface defects on finished products.
* Technical Operation: Monitor automated press cycles, making real-time adjustments to prevent warping, textures, or structural fractures.
* Quality Inspection: Conduct visual and tactile inspections of hub caps for concentricity, finish consistency, and clip integrity.
* Preventative Maintenance: Perform daily checks on hydraulic seals, fluid levels, and safety sensors (light curtains, e-stops) to ensure minimal downtime.
* Documentation: Maintain precise logs of production counts, scrap rates, and any machine maintenance performed during the shift.
Qualifications
* Technical Expertise: Proven experience operating industrial presses (Hydraulic, Mechanical, or Transfer presses).
* Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers) and basic hand tools for machine adjustments.
* Attention to Detail: Deep understanding of metal or plastic flow to identify defects before they become bulk issues.
* Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to OSHA standards, specifically Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and machine guarding.
