About this position
The Technician Licensed, GSE is responsible for the repair, diagnosis, and PM of all GSE equipment within the Canadian North equipment list.
This is a rotational position. 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off, 12-hour days, 7 days a week for the rotations. Your four weeks "on" will be based in Yellowknife, NT. Travel assistance and rotational accommodation are provided.
Reporting to: Manager, Ground Support Equipment
Level: As per the GAFAE Collective Agreement

Duties and Responsibilities
Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Service, troubleshoot and repair of ground support equipment;
- Ensure that all work carried out is properly documented;
- Maintain care and control of Company publications, tools and equipment;
- Use shop equipment in accordance with safety standards;
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas;
- Provide excellent customer service;
- Ability to travel away from base;
- Other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent related work experience;
- Minimum Five (5) years of previous experience;
- Must possess automotive and heavy equipment repair experience with working knowledge of gasoline, diesel, and propane engines/systems;
- Must hold an Automotive Technician license or Coach/Truck or Heavy Equipment license;
- Inter-provincial certification considered an asset;
- Previous experience with minor welding and fabricating considered an asset;
- Basic knowledge of electronics, fuel injection systems and hydraulic systems considered an asset;
- Must possess a valid drivers license;
- Must possess minimal hand tools;
- Ability to work under minimal supervision;
- Must have the ability to perform physical labour related duties;
- Must have the ability to travel to our remote communities;
- Ability to communicate in Inuktitut an asset;
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
