Position Overview
We are seeking Tool Crib Assistant II professionals to support operations in an aircraft hangar environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accountability of tools and equipment while ensuring mechanics and technicians have the resources they need to perform their work safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience with inventory control, hand and power tools, and thrives in a fast-paced aerospace or industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, store, issue, and track tools, fixtures, dies, gauges, and measuring equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and tool accountability.
- Clean, inspect, oil, and perform minor repairs on tools and equipment.
- Identify and document obsolete or surplus equipment.
- Ensure all tools remain safe, serviceable, and readily available for production operations.
- Provide excellent customer service while supporting technicians and production personnel.
- Maintain an organized and efficient tool crib.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) or more years of relevant experience in tool crib, inventory, warehouse, maintenance, or a related field.
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Basic knowledge of the use, maintenance, and repair of hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment.
- Experience with inventory control and stock management.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using TCMax Asset Management Suite.
- Previous experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
- Experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. Military.
- Familiarity with aviation maintenance environments.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs.
- Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish colors and maintain depth perception.
- Ability to hear varying tones and volumes in an industrial environment.
Work Environment
This position is based in an aircraft hangar and may require exposure to:
- Loud noise levels
- Outdoor weather conditions
- Industrial equipment
- Fumes and hazardous materials
