The Apache Academy (ApAc) provides AH-64 synthetic training to our MoD customer. ApAc Engineering supports the continuity of training delivery through pro-active and reactive maintenance of training devices and infrastructure.

We are seeking a Training Device Technician to be based at Wattisham Airfield. This role is will be onsite and operate on a shift pattern.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with repairs and tests, installs, configures, upgrades and assists in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software
  • Assists with general inspections for pre-operations, post-operations and component handling of training devices, assemblies and components
  • Assists with functional tests of training device systems and monitors device instrumentation and bench mounted indicators
  • Assists with troubleshooting systems, support equipment to isolate faults and repair faulty components
  • Works under supervision
  • Assists to develop and enhance existing processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement within ApAc Engineering
  • Assists with first line support to building and infrastructure systems

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Some experience with engineering/electronic/electrical systems/computers/networking.
  • Excellent organization and computing skills.

Preferred Qualifications Skills and Experience:

  • Time served indentured apprenticeship or qualifications in Simulator/Avionics/Electronics/Engineering
  • NVQ level 2 Electrical/Electronics/Avionics/Engineering
  • Proficient with Microsoft office applications.

This position will be based onsite full time and will operate on a shift pattern of alternate weeks of early shift (0700 – 1500) and late shift (1500-2300).
