We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Travel Clerk II for the Passenger Movement Branch to join our AFO Team at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of DOD transportation regulations, policies, and procedures, and related enterprise travel systems.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a subject matter expert on DOD Passenger transportation regulations, entitlements, and procedures, providing guidance and assistance to service members and dependents as needed.
- Liaises with military bases, transportation offices, and third-party carriers to facilitate the smooth and timely execution of passenger transportation services.
- Addresses escalated passenger transportation-related issues and concerns, resolving conflicts and disputes in a professional and diplomatic manner.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to transportation counseling activities, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Collaborates with other departments, including customer service, logistics, and quality assurance, to streamline processes and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
- Stays up to date on changes to DOD passenger transportation policies and procedures, communicating updates to service members and providing training as necessary.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent legal resident with oral and written fluency in the English language.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver’s license.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must undergo pre-employment background screening and drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Common Access Card within first 90 calendar days of employment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges and finding solutions.
- Proficiency in relevant computer software applications, including transportation management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience in passenger transportation counseling or related field.
