The Aircraft Paint Prepper supports the aircraft painting process by performing all surface preparation tasks required prior to paint application. This role is critical to ensuring proper adhesion, finish quality, and compliance with aviation standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in industrial or aviation surface preparation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean, sand, strip, and prepare aircraft surfaces for paint application
Mask and protect aircraft components and areas not being painted
Remove old paint and coatings using approved mechanical or chemical methods
Assist painters with staging, mixing materials, and booth setup
Maintain cleanliness of paint booths, tools, and prep areas
Handle and store hazardous materials safely and in compliance with procedures
Follow work instructions, safety policies, and quality standards
Identify surface defects and communicate findings to the paint team
Support production schedules by completing prep tasks efficiently
Requirements Prior paint prep, industrial coating, or related experience preferred
Aviation experience is a plus but not required
Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Miscellaneous Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crawl, and reach for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Ability to wear PPE including respirators, gloves, and protective suits
