Fabricators/Paint/Composite Associates - Applies finish protective coatings, both air dry and baked with spray guns and/or brushes. Requires the cleaning of cadmium, copper, tin, and other electro-plating of missile, other products, test equipment and tooling parts by electrolytic processes. Operates sandblaster or tumble blast equipment for removal of scale, flux, corrosion and dirt from material or parts. To prove ablative, plastic and bonding fabrication and assembly tools, components, materials, methods and techniques for fabricating and assembling production and prototype components. Applies carbon fiber material in the fabrication of composite structures. Sets up, plans and proves the sequence of operations, on injection molding machines and related controls. Assures proper installation of molds, instructs operators, checks initial parts and assures continued quality of production. Monitors and performs required adjustments to ensure acceptable hardware is produced. To plan, setup and operate various ablative processing equipment, such as presses, tape-wrapper, hydroclaves, autoclaves, bonding and molding equipment; and to make difficult layouts without the aid of templates to produce production and other parts including prototype using a variety of materials, such as ablatives, plastics, foams, resins, rubber, felts, as well as ferrous and non-ferrous metals. May involve responsibility for oven temperatures, time controls and coating consistency. Mixes paints, lacquers and enamels and thins to consistency stipulated in company or customer specifications. Checks surface conditions prior to painting for cleanliness and masking and for post paint treatments such as etching and baking. Sets up and operates spray painting equipment following routine procedure. Maintains close check and control on viscosity of paints. Does any touch-up and rework with spray gun and/or brushes. Blends paint by mixing two or more colors to meet color standards or specifications as required. Requires the cleaning or irriditing of parts or assemblies and performing other basic immersion processes.
Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 3/12 Weekend shifts as required in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees and management. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time day(s) away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Employee will be required to work multiple shifts and schedules per the UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 3x12 weekend D shift- as required in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Ability to work with carbon fiber material in the fabrication of composite structures and/or the ability to apply finish protective coatings, spray guns and/or brushes, operates spray painting equip, optical bonding fabrication, injection molding machines, ablative processing equipment, tape-wrapper, autoclaves, bonding, mixes paints, lacquers.

Able to operate sandblaster or tumble blast equipment.

Must be a U.S citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
Technical school training in auto painting, precision masking/cutting operations and or carbon fabrication.

Prior experience as fabricator on composite material.

Experience as a composite assembler.

Strong math skills.

Previous fiberglass application with gel coat experience.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
