At Raytheons Optics Manufacturing Center (CMC), our team plays a critical role in sustaining our competitive edge in the design and production of complex optical components, assemblies, and systems.  Our team has an onsite opportunity within the for an Optical Thin Film Coating Technician in Richardson, TX (no relocation offered).

A Thin Films Coating Technician must demonstrate a safety-first work routine, have an understanding of the critical details and parameters with their assigned process, and the ability to work with process engineering or management to resolve production issues. 

What you will do:

• Perform a variety of tasks in support of the optical coating processes.
• Document the run and other data with minimal supervision.
• You will coordinate workflow with co-workers and effectively communicate cross-functionally.
• Job requires standing and/or walking short distances 50 of 9 hour shift, bending at the waist 10, repetitive motions 5, lifting and or carrying < 26 lbs.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed.
• Schedule: 9/80 (every other Friday off).
• Shift Hours: First Shift is typically 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, but must be able to work any shift, including a compressed work schedule.

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience is performing the thin film coating / deposition process.
• Past work with vacuum chamber maintenance (such as mechanically roughening “sandblasting,” cleaning and/or re-foil).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

• Ability to interface with people from multiple disciplines and job functions.
• Ability to follow directions and attention to detail.
• Strong multi-tasking skills.
• Experience with optical components.
• Experience with factory quality standards and inspection methods.
