Job Description
* To perform functions assigned in the painting and stripping processes of aircraft and equipment. Education and Job Requirements
* Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
* Must have a minimum of 1 year of work-related aircraft painting experience
* Must have a valid driver's license
* May be required to work at either the Marana, AZ or Tucson, AZ location based on business needs
* Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in painting and methods of mixing paint colors
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical publications required
* The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate is required
* Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills required
* Aviation mechanic experience, either fixed wing or rotorcraft experience desired Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Research technical data and perform aircraft painting functions, applying knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and Company policies and procedures.
* Cleans, sands, and applies chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting.
* Mixes and thins paint or other coatings to specified color and consistency according to standard formulas or color charts.
* Masks and covers surface not to be painted.
* Sprays specified amount of thickness of primer, protective, decorative, or finish coatings, such as paint, lacquer, sealer, or enamel onto prepared surfaces using spray equipment.
* Performs maintenance work such as repair and maintenance of company equipment and shop housecleaning.
* Strips, Sands masks, and insignias, symbols, designs, or other spanings on aircraft according to blueprints or specifications, using stencils patterns, measuring instruments, brushes, or spray equipment.
* Regulates controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings.
* Set up portable ventilators, exhaust units, ladders, and scaffolding prior to painting.
* Ensures that proper documentation is made on training record for training received and signed by Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
* Operates lifting and moving devices to move materials and equipment and access areas to be painted.
* Performs duties of the Lead Painter in his/her absence. Pay Structure
* 0 - 1 Years $23.50 (OT $29.50)
* 1 - 3 Years $26.50 (OT $32.50)
* 3 - 5 Years $31.00 (OT $37.00)
* 5+ Years $35.50 (OT $41.50)
