Assistant Chief Pilot
Job Description:

Position Summary

The Assistant Chief Pilot reports to the Chief Pilot. This position supports the Chief Pilot’s administrative and operational responsibilities for the flight operations, the aircraft and flight crew, and scheduling. This role will provide leadership in the assisting the Chief Pilot in the managing and supporting assigned Lead Captains and their accounts. This position includes flying duties with fleet manager responsibilities and check pilot duties under our 135 AOC on two platforms. The Assistant Chief Pilot may delegate duties but not the accountability for those duties.

 

 

Minimum Requirements

—    Must hold an airline transport pilot certificate with appropriate ratings and be qualified to serve as pilot-in-command in at least one aircraft used in the company’s operations.

—    A minimum of 5000 hours’ total time in aircraft

—    Current first class medical

—    Must be able to work flexible schedules.

—    Subject matter expert in aviation compliance, aviation industry, and crew requirements



Main Responsibilities

—    Supports the Chief Pilot in administrative and operational oversight of assigned Lead Captains and their accounts.

—    Supports the Client Account Directors in administrative oversight of assigned Lead Captains and their accounts.

—    Assists with screening, interviewing, and selection of flight operations candidates.

—    Supports the entire operations team in onboarding and offboarding new flight personnel.

—    Supports assigned Lead Captains in their account responsibilities.

—    Monitors pilot mentoring trends.

—    Mentors and coaches Lead Captains.

—    Evaluates flight crew for promotion.

—    Flying duties of Fleet Manager (SME), 135 Check Pilot and Supplemental support.

—    Investigates irregularities and incidents and submit findings and recommendations to the Director of Operations and company leadership in accordance with JAFS Safety Management System (SMS)

—    Actively engages in and promotes utilization of the JAFS SMS

—    Offers organizational insight, information, and advice regarding the job expectations to crew members. Coaches to help flight crew determine what they need for development; provides both positive and corrective feedback.

—    Other duties may be required as directed by the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot

—    Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

—    Assists with the Client Services team concerning personnel and administrative matters

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircraft arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
