Utility Helicopter 135 Chief Pilot
Job Description:

Operations: Utility | Firefighting | Aerial Application | Aerial Reclamation | Wildlife Operations | Charter | Government Contracts
Location: Western United States operations – travel required

Corvus LLC is seeking an experienced Part 135 Chief Pilot (FAR 119) to help lead and support the continued expansion of our helicopter operations.

Corvus is a growing aviation company with over 30 years of experience in the helicopter industry, supporting a wide range of missions including utility operations, aerial firefighting, external load/long-line work, aerial application, aerial reclamation, wildlife operations, charter operations, and government contract support throughout the western United States.

This position is designed for a hands-on leader who still enjoys flying and field operations, not just administrative oversight. The Chief Pilot will play a key role in maintaining operational readiness, supporting company growth, and helping shape the next phase of Corvus’ helicopter program.

Experienced utility pilots who want to continue flying meaningful missions while helping grow a professional operation are strongly encouraged to apply.

Typical Aircraft and Missions

Aircraft currently operated or supported include AS350/H125 and Bell 206 series aircraft, performing missions such as:

  • Wildland firefighting
  • External load / long-line operations
  • Utility and infrastructure support
  • Aerial application
  • Aerial reclamation and environmental restoration projects
  • Wildlife surveys and wildlife capture operations
  • Charter and contract aviation services

Primary Duties

  • Maintain and update GOM, OpSpecs, SOPs, and operational documentation
  • Manage pilot training, qualifications, and scheduling
  • Coordinate closely with maintenance, safety, and operations management
  • Support and participate in the company Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Conduct operational flying including utility, firefighting, external load, aerial application, aerial reclamation, wildlife operations, and charter missions

Operational Experience Sought

  • Significant utility helicopter experience
  • Long-line / external load operations
  • Wildland fire operations
  • Utility infrastructure work such as powerline, construction, or project support
  • Experience operating Bell 206 series, AS350 / H125, Bell 407, Bell Mediums or similar utility aircraft
  • Experience supporting USFS, DOI, or state wildfire programs
  • Wildlife capture or wildlife management flight experience is a strong plus

Compensation

  • Salary based on experience
  • Additional flight hour pay
  • Per diem while deployed
  • Health benefits
  • Company-paid travel and lodging

Rotation / Schedule

Operations include seasonal assignments and field deployments, particularly during fire season.
Schedules may include rotational deployments depending on contract requirements and operational needs.

Business Development Opportunity

Corvus values pilots who contribute to the growth of the operation. Pilots who assist in developing new contracts, customer relationships, or operational opportunities may be eligible for commission or performance-based incentives tied to those projects.

This creates an opportunity for experienced pilots to share in the success of the work they help bring to the company.
