Basic Scope/Purpose:

• The Pilot is responsible for aircraft flight planning, piloting, and record keeping including the following of rules and regulations governing the operation of District aircraft; safety, technical, medical and flight proficiency qualifications of pilots; and ensuring that the operation of District aircraft conforms with applicable Federal and State rules and policies as set forth by the District Board of Commissioners and administered by the Executive Director.

Reporting Responsibilities:

The Pilot reports to the Chief Pilot.

Working Conditions:

• The Pilot will be required to pilot District aircraft at low altitudes (below wire) above populated and congested areas and will be exposed to adverse environmental conditions, noise, vibration, close proximity to moving parts, working in high places, exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, oils, and may be required to wear a protective equipment.
• Estimated scheduled is 5 days a week. Must be able to report to the Marathon Facility within 1 hour of mission planning notification. 

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE CONTRACT, CANDIDATES MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

• Possess a valid FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with a rotor-craft-helicopter rating
• Florida Public Health Pest Control & Aerial Applicator License
• Rated in either Bell 206L4 or H-125 (AS-350)
• Possess at least an FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate
• Possess a valid Driver’s License
• Minimum of 5 Years spray experience

Pay:

• 1st and 15th of each month.

Housing and Per Diem: 

• The contractor, if located outside of Monroe County, will be offered a Housing/Per Diem stipend.
