Idaho Helicopters Inc. has some big shoes to fill with the retirement of a longtime pilot and Bell Medium Guru. We are seeking a pilot to pick up where he left off providing B205 services on an exclusive use fire contract. The contract is the Tahoe Rappel crew out of Nevada City, CA (Whitecloud Fire Station), and is a minimum 120 day contract that begins Early June with some preseason training events in April/May. Be prepared to work through November.

Idaho Helicopters Inc has operated Part 135,133, and 137 since 1970. Currently we have four Bell 429’s and three Bell 205’s. The 429’s are assigned to air ambulance and our 205’s work on federal firefighting contracts along with miscellaneous 135 and 133 jobs in the off season. Our sister company, Helicopter Maintenance Corp, is a Part 145 Repair Station and a Bell Customer Service Facility for both 429’s and 205’s. We are particularly proud to have been operating Bell mediums since 1987 and 429's since 2011.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Bell 205 helicopters in accordance with USFS/DOI guidelines and regulations.
• Company point of contact for the USFS while on contract.
• Coordinate logistics between Mechanic and FSVD on a day to day basis to meet contract requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Meets qualifications for USFS/DOI contracts as a Bell 205 Pilot.
  • > 50 Hours Bell 205 make/model
  • > 1500 Hours PIC (Helicopters)
  • 100 Hours helicopter preceding 12 months
  • Mountain Flying > 200 Hours
  • Vertical Reference >100 Hours
• Prior firefighting experience (helicopter).
• Strong understanding of firefighting procedures and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work on a 12 on, 12 off schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with USFS Rappel programs
• Prior experience working in Region 5

Not required to relocate to the Boise area.
