Job Description:

The Oregon Forestry Pilot staff position is responsible for the safe operation of rotary wing aircraft in the application of plant protection products on agriculture and forestry lands. Pilots need to have open and positive communication with their supervisor, agronomists, coworkers and the Customer. Process work orders against scheduled dates and time, properly complete necessary paperwork (application records, shipping papers, and all info on work orders). This is a salary job with per acre bonus at the end of the year.

  • Comply with FAA Regulations
  • Comply with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations
  • Communicate on operation needs and discrepancies as required
  • Maintain and create relationships with customer and suppliers
  • Proper application of plant protection products
  • Properly handle and store all chemical containers
  • Comply with label requirements and restrictions for aerial application of pesticides
  • Process work orders as scheduled
  • Follow all North Wind Aviation LLC safety rules and guidelines
  • Maintain and care of aircraft according to generally accepted maintenance practices
  • Ensure any equipment deficiencies have been addressed and reported to the Maintenance Manager
  • Assist with maintenance and other duties as needed at the base facility
  • Participate in drug testing and/or alcohol testing when scheduled
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Current U.S. Commercial Pilot Certificate with applicable ratings
  • Minimum 750 hours of Flight Experience
  • Bell 206B3/L Experience Preferred
  • Prior Agricultural/Forestry Experience Preferred
  • Current agricultural aircraft operator certificate or able to obtain – state specific
  • Washington (and/or Oregon) state license for pesticide handling
  • Maintain all licenses to comply with regulatory agencies
  • Ability to travel to other jobs and base locations
  • Lift containers weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Clean driving record
  • Drug screening and background check pass
  • Ability to travel to other locations and meeting locations
  • Willingness and desire to work overtime hours during contract seasons
  • Must be willing to be on the road and away from home for up to several weeks at a time

  • Ability to use GPS flight programs and equipment
  • Knowledge and verifiable experience in the set-up and maintenance of vehicles
  • Knowledge of fabrication and equipment calibration (preferred)
  • Mechanical skills
  • Intermediate level proficiency with standard software including MS Office Suite/Google Drive
  • Familiarity with liquid measures and transfer procedures as applicable to mixing operations
  • Can work both independently and across teams
  • An understanding of all safe chemical handling regulations
  • Must be reliable and punctual when reporting to work
  • Willingness to work as a team and assume any task when requested
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift and other equipment as required
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills to interact with customers and fellow employees
  • Present a professional image to our customer through personal appearance and overall branch cleanliness
Salary Range: 85,000-95,000
Travel: 100%
