POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the general supervision of the Lead Pilot and Operations Manager, ensure the aircraft is operated under the appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations, Operations Manual and Policy Manual to ensure safe and efficient flights for customers. The PIC is directly responsible for, and the final authority as to the operation of the aircraft.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, complying with all appropriate regulations and guidelines.
  • Accept duty only when in compliance with Flight and Duty Time Regulations, and present oneself rested and medically fit for
  • flying.
  • Be aware of the proper line of operational control.
  • Ensure all paperwork is finished in a neat and accurate manner.
  • Establish a rapport with customers to provide safe, reliable service.
  • Ensure the passengers have had a safety briefing, are qualified to refuel if necessary, understand baggage loading and unloading
  • procedures, and are familiar with safe movement in and around the helicopter.
  • Ensure airman and medical certificate are current, and Lafayette Operations Department has current copies of each.
  • Maintain a personal logbook or recent experience log to show recent flight experience.
  • Ensure FAR Part 135 qualifications are current.
  • Keep the Lead Pilot/Operations Manager are informed of the operations status of the aircraft.
  • Ensure the aircraft is worthy before, during, and after the flight.
  • Report all aircraft mechanical malfunctions by entering them in aircraft engineering logbook.
  • Support company Safety Management System activities.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Commercial License (ATP Preferred)
  • Accident/incident free history
  • Previous Gulf of Mexico experience preferred
  • 1st Class medical certificate
  • S76 qualified
  • Must successfully complete T-HUET (OPITO certified course)
  • 3000 helicopter hours
  • 1500 PIC helicopter hours
  • 1200 multi-engine helicopter hours
  • 500 hours similar complexity
  • 500 hours cross country
  • 100 hours of night (15 hours in helicopter)
  • 100 hours in type (S76C++)
  • 75 hours of instrument time (50 hours in flight of which 25 hours in helicopters)
  • COVID vaccination required prior to hire
