The Avionics Sales Manager drives revenue for avionics hardware, software, and installation services by developing sales strategies, building customer relationships with airlines and MROs, managing the sales pipeline using CRM systems, and collaborating with technical teams to create custom proposals. Key responsibilities include achieving sales targets, attending industry events, and overseeing complex sales processes from lead generation to contract closure.
Essential Job Functions:
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement strategies to meet sales targets and expand spanet share for avionics products and services, including up-sell customers during the production of specifications and proposals to maximize sales of new and existing products and supporting the sales of other Elliott products and services.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities by conducting spanet research and engaging potential customers through direct calls, emails, and networking at trade shows and conferences. Support growth and innovation by contributing to new product ideas and initiatives.
- Sales Support: Coordinate and support sales efforts with customers, Regional Sales Managers, Scheduling, Department Managers, and appropriate operations personnel at base facilities, taking into account skill requirements and production capabilities.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional departments such as Engineering, Avionics, Parts, etc. to understand technical requirements and develop accurate quotes and proposals for complex avionics systems and modifications. Produce detailed specifications, build comprehensive proposals, and prepare spreadsheets for the work to be performed within the customers requested timeframe.
- Pipeline Management: Utilize CRM systems to track leads, manage the sales pipeline, and forecast revenue accurately.
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular updates to senior management team on sales performance, spanet trends, and competitive insights.

Education and Experience:
- B.A. in Business Administration or Marketing or technical equivalent
- 3+ years avionics sales experience or equivalent

- Travel: Travel up to 35 to meet clients, attend events, and meetings.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of avionics hardware, software, installation, and MRO processes.
- Sales Acumen: Proven ability to lead sales teams, manage complex sales cycles, and negotiate contracts effectively.
