Job overview and responsibilities
As the first connection between United Airlines and our customers, you will need strong communication skills and the ability to learn our systems to provide the right answers. On any given call, you may be asked to provide flight schedule and rate information, determine the best routes and timing based on customer needs or answer any other questions from passengers
- Sells consultatively.
- Communicates information to customers regarding fares, rates, schedules, routings, travel documents (Visa/Passports, etc.), flight arrival and departure times or related services, in a pleasant, well-modulated voice and courteous manner.
- Resolves customer conflicts requiring handling or service.
- Arranges for ticketing and other special services.
- Notifies customers of flight irregularities and changes in schedules.
- Assists company employees in arranging business and personal travel plans.
- Operates computer terminal equipment to access, input and retrieve information.
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
Unless subject to a collective bargaining agreement in the country to which an employee is being transferred; the employee retains their original date of employment and company seniority in the new country. Upon transfer, the employee is removed from payroll and benefits in former country and appropriately placed in the salary range and payroll / benefits systems of the new country.
Human Resources will assist with the terms and conditions of employment in light of labor agreements, collective agreements, country work rules and labor laws. In the new country, the employee is reinstated using the same employee id, date of employment and company seniority dates.
QualificationsRequired
- Must have High school diploma/ or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be fluent in English and Portuguese ( read, write and speak)
- Must be flexible to work any shift in a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be legally authorized to work in Brazil for any employer without sponsorship
- Computer literacy, including the ability to keyboard with accuracy, learn airline-specific reservation/ticketing software and resolve problems via the computer
Preferred
- 1 year of experience in sales, customer contact, or other related work
- Previous experience working in airline industry
- Valid passport and U.S Visa to travel for training
