The Icelandair North America Team – oversees all sales and spaneting efforts in North America. The team is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding spanet presence within North America. The team consists of dedicated professionals who develop and deliver on our mission to provide exceptional service and value to our customers.

We are looking for Sales Manager – Indirect Sales in North America who will develop, manage, and grow the airline’s indirect sales channels, including travel agency networks, corporate accounts, consolidators, and other third-party partners.

The Sales Manager – Indirect Sales North America is responsible for building strong B2B relationships, increasing spanet share, and ensuring the airline is the preferred carrier within key distribution networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with GDS distributors, TMCs, OTAs, consolidators, and retail travel agents and develop and execute strategic account plans tailored to each partner type.
  • Identify, target, and secure new corporate clients.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and monitor corporate contract performance to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key agencies to drive revenue and improve performance.
  • Deliver training, product updates, and incentives to agency sales teams.
  • Monitor spanet trends, competitor activity, and distribution dynamics and recommend pricing and distribution strategies to optimize channel profitability.
  • Negotiate and manage commercial contracts in line with company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with airline distribution standards and brand integrity.
  • Work with the spaneting team to roll out trade campaigns and promotional activities and represent the airline at trade events, roadshows, and industry forums.
  • Track and report on indirect channel performance against KPIs and manage budgets for trade incentives, spaneting support, and sales activations.

Qualifications:

  • Education fit for purpose (e.g. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in sales, preferably within the airline, travel, or e-commerce industry.
  • Strong network within the travel trade and/or corporate travel segments.
  • Proven success in developing strategic partnerships and growing indirect sales.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset.
  • Solid understanding of GDS systems, distribution platforms, and corporate travel needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and high-value accounts.
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

The Icelandair – North America office is located in Quincy, Massachusetts. In line with Icelandair’s Flexible Working policy, we offer the flexibility to work remotely, from our office, or a mix of both. Please note that U.S. work permit is required for this position.
