Located in Kent Washington, Protective Coatings Inc. is a leading provider of full service finishing for the aerospace both commercial and defense applications. Services include but are not limited to non-destructive testing such as fluorescent penetrant and magnetic particle inspection and a wide variety of surface enhancement processes such as shot peening and abrasive blasting, passivation, cadmium and nickel zinc plating, chromic, sulfuric and boric sulfuric acid anodizing and the application of chromate conversion coating on ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Organic coating includes the application and testing of multiple resin systems such as epoxies, phenolics, polyurethanes, polyesters, elastomerics, intumescents, lacquers, alkyds, acrylics, dry-film lubricants, and Teflon. Founded in 1976, Protective Coatings Inc. was later acquired by Precision Castparts in 2012, and became part of the Aerostructures Division. As a defense contractor Protective Coatings Inc. is registered with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls as a subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corp and is fully compliant with all relevant facets of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations.
Position Summary:
This is a sales position focusing on selling our company processes and servicing our customer base. This may include maintaining a customer contract, serving contractual customers, quoting and closing contract and transactional opportunities, prospecting for new opportunities and cold calling.
Position requires a "hunter and service " mentality, solid negotiating skills, strong interpersonal skills, computer proficiency, attention to detail, strong math skills and desire to service our customer.
Reporting Relationships:
The Sales Manager will report to the Plant Manager.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for meeting a budgeted-sales for identified accounts.
- Identifies target accounts and opportunities
- Ensures prompt processing of customer orders and requests for quotation in order to close business.
- Expand existing & develop new relationships with customers.
- Coordinates with Quality to fulfill requirements for new customers
- Receives and analyzes incoming correspondence and gathers necessary data to formulate replies.
- Maintains contact with plant personnel (Planning, Production, and Shipping) to ensure that customer Purchase Order requirements are met.
- Acts as customer contact regarding pricing, order status, quality, scheduling & shipping.
- Informs management of pricing levels, competition activities and spanet conditions.
- Acts as liaison between customers and company.
- Prospecting, cold calling, canvassing/leveraging territory & network to gather leads
- Identify leads through phone, email, online and in person
- Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls
- Make outbound follow up calls to existing clients via phone & email
- Generating leads advancing sales process, obtaining new customers and assisting in hitting sales targets
- Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
- Meets with key clients, maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Level of Education & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree preferred; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in Aerospace finishing
- Knowledge of the metals or aerospace processing is preferred
- Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work individually and part of a team
- Strong working knowledge of various quality and inspection requirements, manufacturing processes, and measurement techniques.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Working Conditions:
- Office environment with frequent shop floor interaction.
- Travelling may be required.
