These job requirements allow the employee to work at a Lockheed Martin-designated office or job site for part of their schedule and has a predefined regular, recurring telework schedule for the remaining part of their work schedule.

Primary responsibilities of the Technical Writer are as follows:

- Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
- Gather technical information, prepares written text

- Use multiple tools such as Arbortext, Creo, Illustrator

- Work with engineers to produce quality documentation and installation materials
- Work on all phases of documentation

- Understand basic concepts and write technical copy for various types of documents for Flight Simulators

- Research highly technical subject matter, organizes information from multiples sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to site support

- Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information
from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources

- Strong attention to detail and must be able to work with minimal supervision

- Ability to write using clear and concise language that adheres to customer-established standards and conventions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required

- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team, including virtual teams, as
required.
- Ability to author technical content for procedure manuals, services manuals, and related technical publications that describe installation, operation and maintenance of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and other equipment.
- Ability to author technical content that adheres to required standards, style guidance, contract requirements, and using clear and concise language.
- Ability to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Familiar with structured authoring and XML authoring tools.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance required.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with XPP

- Experience supporting F-35 Trainer Programs

- Ability to support events on site

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
