Job Title: Drone Technician
Job DescriptionAs a Maintenance & Test Technician on the System Prototype & Test team, you will split your time between supporting maintenance of our early-stage aircraft and driving the execution of tests at the test site. This new test site is focused on environmental stress testing. You will work with our latest prototype avionics, powertrain, and mechanisms, collaborating with engineers on design iterations, and supporting field operations to maintain our flight vehicles. You will be responsible for running tests, from quick semi-automated vehicle check-outs to long reliability and endurance campaigns, all with clearly documented results. Additionally, you will build large jigs and structures to support full system vehicle testing and development, such as wind cannons, tether mounts, and safety barriers.
Responsibilities
- Pull drones from production for field testing, repairs, and performance validation in harsh elements.
- Replace vehicle parts following instructions and update documentation in the process.
- Verify that test specifications are correct and can be executed with the resources available.
- Create test setups to match engineering specifications, including interpretation of test procedures and diagrams, instrumentation, data acquisition, test article diagnostics, and front line root causing.
- Write high-quality and detailed reports that drive to the root of any issues on a given test using data and a first-order analysis.
Essential Skills- Mechanical and electrical skills
- 2+ years industry experience in electro-mechanical repair (not school)
- Experience with avionics, testing, R&D, robotics, aircraft, electromechanical systems
- Troubleshooting, assembly, and installation capabilities
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 2+ years repairing and/or testing electro-mechanical devices/assemblies in a maintenance or manufacturing environment
- Experience in aircraft, robotics, and testing environments
- Must be willing to spend 6 weeks training in CA to start
- Must have a valid Drivers License

Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8am - 4pm, with some flexibility needed due to the nature of field testing. The first 6 weeks will be spent at the home base facility in Esparto, CA, with housing and transportation provided. After training, regular work will commence at the test site in Oregon, where housing is also provided. There is a possibility that the test site will move to Warm Springs, OR in 2026.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
