Job Description:

The Lead UAV Pilot is the subject matter expert and is responsible for the management and development of the Drone Program at RiP USA Inc.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assure that all work schedules for regular and special assignments are designed to provide the service in the most effective and efficient manner possible. Manage drone pilot employee availability, time-off requests and call offs for the Drone Platoon
  • Meet all contractual and budgeted scheduled hours while assuring that overtime and non-billable hours are minimized and review and correct shift punches
  • Assist the HR Department with staffing decisions, interviews and coordinate and/or conduct site-specific On the Job Training for new hires and/or client specific training
  • Draft policies and procedures to encourage growth and expansion of the Drone Program
  • Compile daily drone shift reports, complete safety and risk assessments prior to all flights and after-action reviews post-flight
  • Develop and maintain good supplier relations with the clients. Meet regularly with clients to review operational activities and concerns, administration of billing requirements (ensuring all invoices are signed) and maintain up-to-date contact information for all clients
  • Monitor, trouble-shoot and manage drone systems and equipment
  • Ensure that all Drone Platoon personnel are aware of and perform their duties in full compliance with the facility drone and security operations procedures and location policies, procedures and regulations
  • Counsel, advise, motivate and (where necessary) provide discipline and positive reinforcement to field employees
  • Assure that drone and site security operations procedures and SOPs are maintained and regularly reviewed and updated. Conduct site audits
  • Take a proactive role in communicating with Drone Platoon employees’ needs, meet with regularly, listen to issues, provide technical expertise and solutions
  • Conduct routine inspections & audits of assigned drone personnel on all shifts to ensure they are properly performing such duties
  • Process various reports to monitor operational progress, spot any potential problems or trends to assist the operational management team with improving operations and client partnerships
  • Manage site uniforms, equipment, supplies and vehicles and communicate and coordinate with the logistics department to ensure efficient operations. Complete supply drops
  • Ensure all Drone Program operations and maintenance procedures comply with FAA regulations, policies and procedures and make recommendations to the management team for better safety practices
Job Requirements:
  • Required: Part 107 Drone Pilot License
  • Required: 2 years of UAV flying experience
  • An understanding of common drone operating systems
  • Possess excellent written & verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with the field, management and clients alike;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required;
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment;
  • Must be proactive and solution orientated
  • Must be able to multi-task and self-manage in a dynamic environment
  • Must be focused on the company’s core values and business objectives
  • Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards
  • Availability beyond the regular 9am-5pm work schedule
