Job Description:

Bell is seeking a self-motivated experienced Software Engineering
Supervisor to join Bell’s Innovation Team and support the development and
demonstration of new and novel Unmanned Aerial Systems.  The Supervisor
will be directly involved in the development of enabling technologies leading
to the integration of UAS in On-Demand Mobility markets. This position
will lead a diverse team of engineers in a fast-paced environment.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising a team of direct reports responsible for design and
    development of hardware, flight controls, control laws and autonomous
    functions.

  • Planning, scheduling and
    budgetary input to program leadership

  • Lead requirement
    development and decomposition efforts

  • Oversee and advise
    design reviews and testing

  • Mentor and guide fellow engineers

  • Provide weekly updates
    and assist in proposal efforts for commercial and military products


Job Requirements:

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software,
    Aerospace, Electrical engineering or related degree.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with 2 years of experience in ITAR or Innovation projects; OR, Minimum of 8 years of experience.

  • Experience in embedded software development with
    several development cycles managing and implementing complex software

  • Experience in embedded hardware development

  • Comfortable leading a multidiscipline team in a
    rapid development environment

  • Knowledge of:

    • Real time operating
      systems and sub-system control theory

    • Software Development Best
      Practices

    • Software verification
      and validation

    • Development in an
      embedded Linux and microcontroller environment

    • Software development in
      C/Cand Matlab/Simulink

    • Control algorithm development,
      modeling and simulation

    • Hardware-in-the-loop integration
      and testing

    • CAN, RS-232, RS-485,
      Ethernet, and I2C communication protocols

    • Autonomous functions,
      Machine Learning and AI

    • Sensor integration and
      fusion
