Fighter Jet Electrical Technician willing to work on 1st shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
Position Responsibilities:
- Technician maintains the following: Aircraft avionics/electrical and associated equipment
- Remove and install avionics/electrical and related components and gear
- Perform Daily, pre and post flight and periodic aircraft inspections.
- Perform flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch and recovery including plane captain activities
- Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
- Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
- Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
- Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
- Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
- Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction.

- Prioritizes quality, product and people safety
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
- This position may be required to work at Stennis Facility in Kiln, Mississippi as required
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance
- Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Minimum of 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Fighter Avionics/Electrical modification experience
- F/A-18 (AT/AE) Qualifications
- Prior experience with Navy 4790.1 requirements, is preferred
Typical Education/ Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
