The Professional Group is Seeking a Quality Control NDT Inspector to join us for our client LATAM Airlines, located in Miami International Airport.
The Quality Control NDT Inspector is responsible for the safe and efficient determination of airworthiness of aircraft maintenance work and Task assigned to them by using approved NDT methods. The NDT Inspector is responsible for ensuring that inspections are performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and/or NDT Manual. He/she must be certificated under Part 65 and understand, speak, read and write English.
Main responsibilities:
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection and establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
- Communication: excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- Conduct NDT for the acceptance of parts or aircraft and document the results if a demonstration of proficiency in this ability was included in the practical examination
- Have a general knowledge of NDT methods, product manufacturing, and inspection technologies used by LAN Cargo Repair Station (Eddy Current, Ultrasound, Magnetic Particle, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection-FPI)
- Perform Quality Control Inspections as required and record all inspection functions on applicable paperwork in accordance with the customer policies and procedures
- Analytical skills: must be able to gather information and use data to determine cause and effect for complex problem solving
- Verify that routine inspections and checks of the NDI equipment are accomplished as per the manufacturer’s instructions
- Ensuring that the inspection tools and equipment, including inspection aids used to perform inspections, are in proper working order and the proper calibration information is affixed
- Performs assigned inspection functions in accordance with the Company & third-party maintenance manual inspection procedures, ensuring that aircraft are maintained up to standards of airworthiness and serviceability for all scheduled operations.
- Reviewing the aircraft log book, pilot reports and deferred maintenance items at required inspection visits.
- Performing required inspection functions during all required inspection visits such as airframe and engine detailed inspections called out on task cards, buy back and RII inspections on major inspection items or non-routine work items as required by the customer.
- Using all inspection forms, reports, logbook, routine and non-routine cards as applicable for all contracted maintenance work, properly complete them, and sign, after work completion.
- Ensuring that airworthy, SUP and defective parts are properly identified and placed in a specific, segregated place.
