Job Description:

Performs assembly and fitting of detail parts from various manufacturing processes (i.e. sealant, fasteners, electric harnessing, and hydraulics). Assures parts assembly meets specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates competency with layout drilling, use of drill guides, nut plate jigs, and installation of complex assemblies with limited leadership assistance.
  • Performs the following tooling techniques: operates measuring devices, drills, and installs fasteners, sealants, and adhesives.
  • Ensures parts/assembly meets required specifications, quality standards, delivery metrics, and electrical resistance check parameters.
  • Performs routine build tasks within assigned production area/position within the time standards.
  • Implements and complies with the tool control program.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Supports the company 5S program (Sort, Systematize, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
  • Maintains active communication with supervisor/lead regarding task/assignment status.
  • Implements SAP Quality Notification (MRB) procedures.
  • Practices SAP Break Of Inspection (BOI).
  • Completes special assignments and simple repairs as required.
  • Assists in the mentorship program as directed by management.

Education, Experience, Certification, and/or Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Works independently in the role without daily guidance from the lead.
  • Requires the use of arithmetic and measuring instruments and blueprints.
  • Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and process specifications to follow the sequence of planned operations.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Exhibits teamwork and a strong work ethic.
  • Works with minimal direction from mentor or lead.
  • Ability to work overtime, call in, call back, and on-call duty if so requested by management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and PowerPoint) is strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of SAP and TCM beginner level.
  • May be requested to travel nationally.
  • Handles HAZMAT material and disposal procedures per defined protocols.
  • Understands use, wears, and enforces required PPE within assigned work area/position.
  • Complies with all safety regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
  • Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  • Effectively communicate in the Business English language.
  • Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
  • Pull, push, carry, lift, or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers, etc.), as required by job duties.
  • Must have full range of motion and agility.
