Job Description:
  • Must have an A&P License
  • Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electro magnetically assemblies or mechanical units, sub assemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
  • Uses various measuring devices.
  • Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
  • Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.
  • Works with limited supervision. Generally would not require instructions on routine work, and only general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.
  • May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level employees.
  • Duties & tasks are varied and moderately complex.
  • Resolves most questions and problems, and refers complex questions to higher levels.
  • Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other departments, and/or representing outside organizations.
  • Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data on matters of moderate importance to the function of the department or which may be of sensitive nature
Job Requirements:
  • Must be a High School graduate or equivalent and four (4) years additional education and/or experience interpreting US Navy technical publications and processes.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with Inspection techniques and Inspection
  • tools including dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, and borescopes.
  • Able to interpret customer specifications, 2D or modeled drawings, inspection instructions and checklists.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with St. Augustine Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence, Product Quality processes and procedures.
  • Experienced with identifying, documenting and processing product non-conforming material tags using approved Material Review Board processes, specifically understanding the Preliminary Review process, and utilizing the Manufacturing Execution System application tool.
  • Proficient in navigating and referencing procedural guidance in the Command Media library, technical data contained within Quest or other shared document locations,  specifications, MEPS, and NAVAIR
  • Maintenance Manuals as required.
  • Experience with analysis of E-2D aircraft and Power Plant Inspection requirements.
  • Current possession of an A&P license.
  • Ability and willingness to periodically work overtime and fill temporary assignments on other shifts upon request.
