Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Floor Inspector to perform detailed inspections on general aviation and business jet aircraft, ensure accurate documentation, and verify compliance with FAA regulations and repair station procedures. This hands-on role supports daily maintenance operations by conducting thorough inspections, auditing work packages, and collaborating with technicians to maintain airworthiness.
The essential responsibilities include but not limited to:
Inspections & Quality Control
- Perform preliminary, hidden damage, detailed, general visual, and final inspections on aircraft, engines, propellers, and accessories.
- Complete inspection checklists and document discrepancies with clear, accurate resolutions.
- Audit maintenance work packages, work orders, and logbook entries for completeness and compliance with 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, 121, 135, and 145.
- Generate maintenance record entries in accordance with FAA Part 43, repair station manual, and operator/air carrier requirements.
- Complete FAA Forms 337 and 8130-3 as required.
- Verify installation of only serviceable, airworthy, and approved parts.
- Ensure proper tagging and segregation of rejected or unserviceable parts.
- Confirm precision tools and test equipment are calibrated prior to use.
- Review Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs) for applicable compliance.
- Support final work package review to confirm all tasks are completed per regulations, repair station manual, and customer GMM with no open items.
Technical & Documentation Support
- Collaborate with technicians, Team Leaders, and Lead Technicians to resolve non-conformities and ensure accurate documentation.
- Interpret manufacturer specifications, maintenance manuals, and technical data.
- Maintain inspection records and documentation systems in an organized, audit-ready state.
- Participate in quality assurance audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance
- Adhere to all inspection procedures in accordance with FAA requirements and repair station quality control manual.
- Communicate effectively with production personnel, supervisors, customers, and regulatory authorities as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area in the hangar and shop environment.
