Job Summary:
The Quality and Process Engineering (Q&PE) organization is looking for Non Destructive Testing (NDT) L3 inspectors who will work with internal P&W business units, suppliers and partners to develop and continuously improve NDT systems. As a member of the Q&PE NDT team, you will perform NDT audits, provide technical guidance, inspection system oversite and drive process improvements. Specific NDT L3 proficiencies being considered are: Ultrasonic, specifically longitudinal and shear wave immersion disk inspection.
This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates outside of RTX.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years NDT experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
- Minimum experience: 4 years as a certified NDT L2 inspector
- Currently hold or able to obtain a NDT Level 3 in one or more NDT methods
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with training, personnel testing and auditing NDT systems
- Experience that includes a background in fully automated inspection systems i.e. IRT ScanMaster and/or Matec Aragorn.
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations
- Ability to work independently
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers
- Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft suite
- High energy, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement
