Ability to work any shift as needed. 1st shift 6am-4:30pm, 2nd shift 4:30pm-3am
Structures Mechanic to perform a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers. Aligns parts on jigs using templates and fixtures. Performs such minor part-fitting operations as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Responsibilities for Structures Mechanic:
• Structures mechanic with sheetmetal experience
• Assemble, install, and modify parts such as ribs, spars, skins, bulkheads, and fuselages using precision drilling, riveting, and alignment tools.
• Apply expert knowledge of bonding practices, specialized materials (titanium, aluminum, composites), and structural repair manuals.
• Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical orders to fabricate structural assemblies.
• Provide guidance and expertise to lower-level technicians, often troubleshooting complex malfunctions.
• Maintain high-quality standards in compliance with safety procedures, including proper PPE usage and adherence to manufacturing shop controls.
• Work in confined, elevated, or awkward spaces and handle hazardous materials.
