Description:**4X10 work schedule (Tuesday through Friday-10 hours/day). SECOND SHIFT**

You will be the Optical Operator for the Optical Components Center. Our team utilizes the latest capabilities in precision optical manufacturing to produce some of the worlds most advanced weapon and sensor technology.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Optical Operator, you will work under general direction and from manufacturing process plans, engineering drawings, and specifications to perform a wide variety of complex optical fabrication processes including optical grinding and polishing. In addition you will complete measurements, data collection, and documentation required to verify compliance to optical MIL specifications using optical and mechanical measuring devices such as interferometers, gauges, and microscopes to evaluate optical components.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees and management. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional day(s) away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Employee will be required to work multiple shifts and schedules per the UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement

Experience with mechanical/optical evaluation

Experience with handling optical materials

The ability to use hand tools and precision machining tools effectively is required.

The ability to read schematics and engineering drawings is required.

The ability to test parts to ensure they meet finished specifications is required.

A mechanical aptitude is required which is sufficient to perform this role effectively.

Visual Acuity to correctable 20/20 is required.

The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
