Aerolineas Sosa

Our history goes back to 1976 when Captain Juan Antonio Sosa after working for several years with LANSA and Aero Servicios, decided to become independent and buy a Cessna 182 aircraft for 3 passengers . With this aircraft he began to offer charter services flying the plane himself.

As the demand for charter flights increased, a Cessna 206 for five passangers was purchased followed by an Islander of nine passangers. With time, charter flights were made with more frequencies which led to the first scheduled flight to the Mosquitia. As the schdueled flights and the gasoline of these piston aircrafts increased, the need to acquire the first aircraft turboprop surged, the Twin Otter 300

Due to the constant increase in the demand, sheduled flights were also initiated to the Bay Islands, beginning with Roatan,than Utila, and last Guanaja. The followed routes opened were to the city of Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula.

Today, Aero Lines Sosa makes the most frequent flights to all of its destinations in the country specially Roatan where six to eight flights are donde daily. It also offers flights to Utila , Guanaja , Puerto Lempira , San Pedro Sula , Tegucigalpa and Grand Cayman , all direct from the city of La Ceiba. Additionally, it has direct routes from Roatan to Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula and vice-versa. ALS still offerss charter flights in and out of the country. In 2014 ALS has open their new daily and route from the most importatn cities from Honduras, San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa direct to the city of Guatemala.

Aero Lineas Sosa is the oldest, and the only national airline in the country certified by the FAA of the United States of America, upgrading its fleet from second generation to first..
