In 2005, Aerosonic introduced digital instruments. The digital technology designed into these instruments provides customers with improved accuracy and reliability that is significantly better than traditional mechanical devices. Digital instruments have reduced production lead-times, resulting in even greater customer satisfaction. With the sales potential covering all aspects of aviation, this digital technology represents a strong addition to the existing line.
Our product roadmap for the future consistently brings forth new products and new developments that are consistent with our strategy to increase market share, to transition to a more digitally based company.
An important step along this path is the launching of two new product development programs that will expand our market penetration. The 2” Mach/Max Digital Airspeed includes complex features, expanding the reach of our current digital airspeed to include higher end aircraft. The lightweight lithium polymer Standby Battery provides a completely separate source of cockpit power for all three critical standby instruments for four hours, in the event of loss of primary aircraft power.
With the 2007 acquisition of Op Technologies, a producer of a series of cockpit display solutions for experimental and general aviation, Aerosonic will compete on a larger scale across a wider number of aircraft models. This transaction will establish a new platform for future growth and will allow us to better serve our present and future customers.
