Job Description:

Summary:

The Avionics Technician must accurately troubleshoot, repair and perform scheduled maintenance on all airplanes, as well as perform inspections as required by the FAA. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Fully analyzes all required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches to troubleshoot, repair and install desired product or part. Detects errors and corrects through proper departmental channels. 
  2. Professionally trains and leads other employees in proper work techniques. 
  3. Schedules items through the shop to maintain on-time deliveries.
  4. Checks all mechanical components prior to installation to prevent damage.
  5. Accurately estimates hours and materials for scheduled jobs.
  6. Works effectively with engineering in recommending design enhancements and productivity improvements.
  7. Specializes in installation, inspection, test, maintenance, and repair of Avionics systems.
  8. Operates all required ground support equipment. 
  9. Prompt and regular attendance. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with a one hour unpaid lunch. However, evening and weekend shifts may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

CONUS and OCONUS travel is required. As requested by the customer, travel will be for extended durations.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Five (5) years of Avionics work experience.
  3. Must demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform all job tasks.
  4. Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions.
  5. Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPM and ATA codes.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
  2. Prior project management experience.
  3. Prior training experience on aircraft mechanical systems.
  4. Five to Ten (5-10) years’ of aircraft-related experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform all job tasks.

Other Hiring Requirements

  1. Valid Driver's License.
  2. US Citizenship is required to obtain/maintain a United States Security Clearance.
  3.  Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
  4. Must be able to obtain a passport.
  5. Veteran Status Preferred.
