Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance is currently hiring experienced Avionics Techs. Avionics Techs are responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and repair of avionics and electrical systems on aircraft. You will be working with fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Prior avionics experience with Garmin, Avidyne, Aspen, PS Engineering, L-3, etc. preferred. You will need a willingness to learn, mechanical aptitude, basic understanding of electrical circuits, and a willingness to work in a shop environment.
Daily job tasks will include:
- Removing interior or exterior panels and furnishings to facilitate access
- Removing old components and wiring
- Tracing wiring
- Installing new components and instruments
- Troubleshooting component failures
- Repairing basic DC circuits
We will provide necessary training and put you on the path to obtaining a repairman’s license from the FAA. You may elect to pursue your A&P. Some basic hand tools are required. Over the next 20 years there will be significant shortages of qualified aviation techs. Join a medium sized, growing company without an impersonal, corporate culture. Certified techs with 20 years of experience can make over $80k a year.
