Primary Function


This position receives, records, and distributes work orders to service crews upon customers&39; requests for service on articles or utilities purchased from wholesale or retail establishment or utility company, records information, such as name, address, article to be repaired, or service to be rendered, prepares work order and distributes to service crew, schedules service calls and dispatches service crew. The Service Order Dispatcher calls or writes the customer to ensure satisfactory performance of service, keeps record of service calls and work orders, may dispatch orders and relay messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments using radio or cellular telephone.  


Essential Duties
•    Performs administrative updates of all applicable software programs as required.
•    Be familiar with work order systems. 
•    Coordinates the distribution of service orders through radio, cellular phone, work management system, e-mail, etc. 
•    Performs follow up on customer requests to ensure satisfactory service. 
•    Prepares and delivers schedules to technicians. 
•    Maintain and keep records up to date.
•    Responsible for actions pertaining to work order scheduling, delivery and follow up. 
•    Use portable radios to communicate with supervisors, and service call desk.
•    Responsible for timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and hazardous situations.
•    Timely completion and accuracy of all dispatch work.  
•    Works closely and harmoniously with other employees.
•    Must be able to multitask. 
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 
•    Must be able to work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision.
•    Must possess experience in scheduling and dispatching service orders related to Government contracts.
•    Must possess strong knowledge building operations services.
•    Must have knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite.
•    Must have customer service experience; routinely interact with external contacts, customers, and team members.
•    Must be trustworthy.  
•    Ability to identify potential hazards and mitigate them.
•    Ability to provide detailed report, briefing and advise.
•    Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.  
•    Must have knowledge of data collection databases to include in administrative level entries.
•    Must be an excellent communicator and have fair judgement.  
•    Must be able to attend Government conferences/training as required.
•    Must have experience in providing safety support in large facilities maintenance or construction projects.
•    Able a multi-tasker.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications

•    High School Diploma or equivalent.
•    Two (2) years’ experience of work in DoD Contract facility maintenance operations.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Projects.
•    Must be able to work on secure military facilities.
•    Must have current valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be qualified to operate a vehicle.
•    Must be able to pass a DoD background check, and pass drug screening tests.
