Kittitas County & Bowers Field Airport

The Kittitas County Airport (Bowers Field) is a public use general aviation airport owned by Kittitas County, located 2 miles north of the City of Ellensburg and 3 miles from the nearest I-90 exit.

Runway 11-29 is 4,300 feet long and 150 feet wide and has transmitter-activated lights, from sunset to sunrise, is equipped at the "29" end with runway end identifier lights (REILS), and Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI). A VOR is located 2.5 miles east of the airport and provides a non-precision approach. Runway 11-29 has distance-to-go markers.

Bowers Field has two fixed operators (FBO) for the airport providing for aircraft maintenance, instruction and support services. The airport serves single-engine, twin-engine and turboprop aircrafts. There is no scheduled flight service.

80 acres of the 1,240 airport property has been zoned for an industrial park or commercial development. The airport currently has 12 county-owned t-hangar rentals, a fueling facility, 20,000 sq. ft main hangar, 10 private t-hangars and ground leases. The nearest available commercial services are found in Yakima, WA, at the McAllister Field.
