Job Title: A&P Mechanic Lead - Line Maintenance
Job Description

The A&P Mechanic Lead is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards. This role includes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in hangar environments, real-time line maintenance, and rapid-response AOG support. This is a working Lead position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy maintenance, modifications, and overhauls on aircraft systems and structures.
  • Use technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repairs.
  • Document all work performed in accordance with regulatory and company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins.
  • Conduct pre-flight, post-flight, and turnaround inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during aircraft operations.
  • Replace components and perform minor repairs to ensure aircraft readiness.
  • Coordinate with flight crews and dispatch for real-time updates.
  • Respond to urgent aircraft issues that prevent flight operations.
  • Travel to remote locations as needed to perform repairs.
  • Work independently under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Communicate with operations and maintenance control to expedite solutions.
Essential Skills
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial aircraft maintenance (e.g., B737, A320, B747).
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and aircraft systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and test instruments.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environments.
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling.
  • Ability to obtain airport SIDA badge (background check required).
  • Supervisor/Lead experience.
  • Experience with Boeing and Airbus aircraft, specifically B717, A319, A320, A321, A300.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily in a hangar with a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday. There may be an addition of second and third shifts, so flexibility in shift availability is preferred. The role requires working in various conditions, including at heights and in confined spaces, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Candidates must have their own tools, which need to be in a box but do not have to be shadowed and etched.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
