Job Title: Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Heavy Structures Mechanic 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting a contingent maintenance program. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing aircraft and engine airframe systems.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and service aircraft and engine airframe systems.
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems according to technical specifications and engineering instructions.
- Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
- Perform part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
- Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and modify assemblies to incorporate structural changes.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
- Assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
- Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies, including precision drilling, countersinking, and using calibrated tools.
- Perform modifications and adjustments as necessary.
- Notify lead personnel or supervision of malfunctions, defects, and damages of equipment, material, and product.
- Check work for completeness and accuracy.
- Perform production accountability duties related to the processing, verification, quality auditing, and inspection of assemblies, parts, and tooling.
Essential Skills- Experience with sheet metal, airframe, aircraft structure, drills, reaming, and blueprint reading.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, and written instructions.
- Capable of performing moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work, including bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working overhead.
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 10 years of industry-related experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DoD Clearance within a reasonable timeframe.
- FAA-issued Airframe & Powerplant License.
- Familiarity with FAA Repair Station procedures.

Work Environment
Work in a non-climate-controlled hangar, with the possibility of day or night shifts. The schedule is traditionally Monday to Thursday or Thursday to Sunday. Flexibility is required as shift assignments may vary.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.08 - $57.08/hr.
