Hands-On Work That Keeps Aircraft Flying SafelyPDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a Mechanical Technician in Wichita, Kansas. In this role, you’ll perform bench-level testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of complex avionics and electronic systems that directly support aircraft reliability and safety.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys deep technical work, problem-solving at the component level, and contributing to high-quality aerospace maintenance and repair operations.
What You’ll DoAs a Mechanical Technician, you’ll support repair and overhaul operations for returned avionics and electronic equipment. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
Testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying moderate to complex avionics and electronic equipment
Performing component-level troubleshooting and repair of circuit card assemblies
Setting up and operating precision test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and automatic test equipment
Aligning and adjusting electrical components to ensure proper circuit functionality
Disassembling and reassembling complex electrical and mechanical units
Verifying that all repairs meet our companies Quality and Workmanship Standards
Accurately documenting repair actions, time, and data in SAP or service worksheets
Preparing repair cost estimates and communicating technical findings when required
Researching service bulletins, overhaul requirements, and rebuild estimates
Supporting Lean initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and safety programs
Assisting senior technicians and leads in meeting workload and production goals
Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or vocational certificate in electronics preferred)
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Surface mount and through-hole soldering experience (required)
Experience with electronics component-level repair
Ability to work overnight 4th shift after completion of first-shift training
Preferred QualificationsAssociate Degree in Electronics Technology or related discipline
RF repair experience
Experience working with avionics systems in an aerospace or MRO environment
Familiarity with SAP and formal repair documentation processes
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

Pay Details: $26.00 per hour
