Strategic Support Solutions is seeking a high-caliber Avionics Crew Lead to spearhead complex installation projects. This is a "player-coach" role designed for a master technician who excels at high-precision wiring, systems integration, and mentoring junior installers. You will be the technical point of contact on the floor, ensuring that every installation—from Garmin G1000 retrofits to Collins Fusion suites—is delivered with OEM-level quality and DER-ready documentation.
Technical Leadership: Lead a team of installers in the integration and repair of advanced avionics systems, including flight compartment controls and mission-critical electronics.
Precision Installation: Route, terminate, and tie complex wire harnesses into new and existing factory bundles with meticulous attention to detail.
Systems Integration: Execute and oversee functional check-outs and troubleshooting for Garmin (G1000/G600) and Collins (Proline 21/Fusion) systems.
Quality Assurance: Exercise extreme care and precision to ensure all installations meet FAA standards and internal quality benchmarks for on-time, "squawk-free" deliveries.
Project Oversight: Manage timelines and stressful delivery windows with a professional, solution-oriented attitude.
The Veteran Expert: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience specifically with Garmin G1000/G600 and Collins Proline 21/Fusion systems.
Credentials: An A&P License is strongly preferred; an FCC License is a significant advantage.
Tools of the Trade: Must provide your own hand tools, professionally marked, shadowed, and inventoried.
Physical Agility: Ability to work in confined spaces (aft of the pressure bulkhead), work overhead for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Compliance: Must pass a standard FBI criminal history background check for SIDA badge access.
