We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to drive the performance of our Operations Unit. The ideal candidate will implement and support operating plans, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and schedule standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and control functional activities to achieve Operations Unit targets.
• Supervise union employees and ensure they execute responsibilities effectively.
• Continuously improve business processes to ensure best practices in quality, cost, and labor relations.
• Coach, develop, and provide feedback to employees, fostering true engagement within the team.
• Utilize Lean Methodology to ensure best practices in quality and cost for Operations Unit deliverables.
• Promote a Safety first environment by achieving housekeeping standards (5’S) and adherence to working practices.
• Ensure functional role integration into Operations Unit, resulting in a one-team approach.
• Develop a right first time environment to ensure quality is built into the product.

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in a technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma tools involving shop floor processes.
• Experience in transformations to establish and develop Organizational Excellence.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with KPI utilization.
• Previous experience working in a unionized environment.
• High-level customer-oriented approach with a desire to provide excellent service.

• Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, and/or heavy manufacturing is an asset.
• Possess ethics, integrity, honesty, and respect for others.
• Cooperation, motivation to get things done, and ability to express ideas logically.
• Positive attitude and ability to overcome obstacles.
• Assumes full responsibility and utilizes appropriate resources to solve day-to-day problems.
• React quickly to unforeseen events.

Work Environment

This role requires shift work on a set schedule with no possibility of rotation or change. The position is onsite at Pearson with no remote option available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.14 - $59.00/hr.
