PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace organization to hire a System Design and Analysis Engineer supporting ongoing aircraft upgrades and modernization efforts. In this high-impact role, you will apply advanced engineering principles to develop, analyze, and enhance avionics and flight management capabilities that improve safety, performance, and operational effectiveness. Schedule: Monday–Friday First Shift (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Pay Rate: Starting at $85.98 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant 12-Month Assignment
What You’ll DoAs a System Design and Analysis Engineer, you will apply a multidisciplinary approach to design, development, and validation activities for advanced avionics and flight management systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Applying engineering knowledge, tools, and techniques to ongoing aircraft upgrades and system improvements
Supporting analysis, design, development, testing, verification, and validation of avionics systems
Contributing to the development of new capabilities and enhanced system functionality
Focusing on Flight Management System performance, including flight planning, navigation, guidance, control, display, and automation
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative technical solutions
Integrating Agile and Continuous Delivery methodologies into systems and software development
Communicating technical concepts effectively while balancing business and operational constraints
Supporting system-level integration and ensuring compliance with requirements
Participating in continuous improvement and sustainment initiatives
Required QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Aerodynamics, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Data Science, or related field
10+ years of full-time aerospace experience in aircraft, avionics, flight controls, propulsion/engine controls, or related systems
Experience with Agile and Continuous Delivery Method (CDM) processes
Proven experience leading systems or software development programs
Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
Reliable attendance and the ability to work onsite in Long Beach, CA
Preferred QualificationsMilitary or commercial aircrew experience
Private Pilot License or Flight Instructor certification
Ability to lead geographically diverse and cross-functional teams
Experience supporting aircraft modernization, upgrades, and sustainment programs
Advanced degree in a relevant technical discipline
Expertise in system-level design, analysis, and integration

Pay Details: $85.98 per hour
