The Chief Floor Inspector is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the inspection and quality assurance system for an FAA Part 145 Repair Station. This role ensures compliance with all applicable FAA regulations, company policies, and customer requirements, while overseeing airworthiness determinations and return-to-service authorizations.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure continuous compliance with 14 CFR Part 145, Part 43, and other applicable FAA regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the FAA for inspection and quality-related matters.
Inspection & Airworthiness:
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections of articles and components.
- Ensure all work performed meets approved data, manufacturer instructions, and customer requirements.
- Authorize or delegate return-to-service approvals in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure proper calibration and control of inspection tools and test equipment.
Personnel Oversight:
- Supervise, train, and qualify inspection personnel
- Ensure inspectors meet FAA training, qualification, and currency requirements
- Conduct performance evaluations for inspection staff
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
Documentation & Records:
- Ensure accurate completion and retention of maintenance and inspection record
- Review and approve technical data, revisions, and engineering changes
