An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Static Equipment Engineer within the Skills Center of Excellence within the UPT Engineering group located in Rosemont, IL. The static equipment engineer will function as a key technical resource supporting the delivery of basic Schedule A and Equipment designs and supporting the advancement of UOP process technologies in the refining, petrochemical, and gas processing areas. They will apply their skills in mechanical design, specification, and analysis of reactors and other pressure vessels, vessel internals, piping systems, and other specialty static equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare mechanical design packages (layout, analysis, specifications, requisitions, etc.) for customer projects.
- Review critical vendor documentation for compliance with project requirements.
- Support field/shop inspections, troubleshooting, and site installation
- Continuous improvement of UOP technologies and work processes
- Coaching of junior engineers
You Must Have:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- 2+ years mechanical engineering design experience
We Value:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Some experience in the mechanical design and troubleshooting of pressure vessels or related equipment with applications in the refining, petrochemical, gas processing or similar industry.
- Demonstrated ability to go from concept to design specifications to equipment requisitions.
- A working knowledge of pressure vessel design, analysis, and industry codes (ASME, API, etc.) as well as inspection, testing, fabrication, and construction techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to effectively deliver on complex situations and balance multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to convey information with clarity and directness, ensuring the message is understood across diverse, global teams.
- Registration as a professional engineer and/or Six Sigma certification.
