Job Description:

STi is a private aerospace engineering and aircraft maintenance contractor, founded in 1985, looking to fill positions for an upcoming long-term contract with the DoD. The contract is long-term and has a high level of job stability.

General functions/requirements for aircraft maintenance functions of the Line, Corrosion Control, Tool Room, and Aircraft Organizational Level (O-Level) Maintenance support P-3C and EP-3E supported by Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing TEN (CPRW-10). You would be pivotal in providing aviation maintenance support requirements to enable VQ-1 to complete its assigned tactical missions. All work will be performed in facilities under the control of VQ-1, located at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, WA, and detachment locations.

The Tools and Parts Attendant shall coordinate Tool Room operations with VQ-1 program manager to ensure tasks and services are performed according to IAW governing directives, guaranteeing all inspection standards are met.

More specifically, Tools and Parts Attendant general responsibilities include:

  • Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment.
  • Keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed, unpacks and stores new equipment
  • Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors
  • Coats tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun, and attaches identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool

Clearance required: Secret

Pay: $27.54 - $37.29/hour

  • $27.54/Hourly + $9.75/hour for Health & Welfare (Cash-in-lieu option available)

(Additional Rate: Health and welfare of $9.75 for each hour worked to be used for medical expenses/health benefits, any unused funds will roll over into a 401k at the end of the year. Cash-in-lieu option available for those with proof of insurance) 

Hours of Operation:

  • Day Shift: Mon-Fri --> 0630-1500
  • Night Shift: Mon-Fri --> 1500-2330
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to identify specific items or suitable substitutes from descriptions of their intended use.
  • Ability in determining when tools and equipment should be sent for test, repair, and calibration.
  • Determines from records such errors as improper item issue/turn-in credit, and the failure of records to show items have been sent for repair.
  • Skill in identifying and establishing special storage locations.
  • Ensures project material is separated from regularly stocked items.
  • Ability to determine stock levels.
  • Knowledge of munitions forecasting in accordance with major command guidance.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and safety requirements. 
Salary Range: 27.54-37.29
